LADIES HAIRDO NATURAL IS NOT ALWAYS THE CHOICE

LADIES, HAIR NATURAL IS NOT ALWAYS THE CHOICE
The creativity of ladies is without many questions, they are good in fitting the right bolt in the right knot, clinging to materials that give extra touch to their look is a must in their dictionary. People call it creativity others, fashion, either names but the bottom line is beauty. They deploy all manner of revamps in beautification to be receiver’s praises.
Natural hair or afro as other people call it is a hair style that has sprung from the several hairdo ladies explore. It is called natural because it is the God given hair with no extra touch ups or artificial enhancement.
This hair is enviable on the heads of some individuals, the lifes’ of; Miss Vee, Lydia Forson, Becca, among others are beautiful sight to avoid a blink nevertheless it is not a choice for many. I must appreciate that holding Miss Vee’s natural hair is one way that portraying African Lady’s identity and it’s better to be. Unfortunately this type of hair on the heads of some people is a horrified venture. I’m confused with the kind of so called natural hair’s that roam on the street these days.
I was once on my way to work, walking down the ACP road-Pokuase, I spotted a young woman carrying a baby at her back. On her heard I saw a heap of black “thing” (something I will be mistaken to call a hair) looking at how bumpy it was, unpolished and like a miserable dread rejected for years. Unpleasant as it was, I thought I had seen a ‘mad’ woman. Of course I wouldn’t have thought of anything better but I approaching, I got released from my daydream since the lady was mentally sound.
Beauty indeed is not self entitlement, but also a third person’s entailment. Before you wear that hair, good lady ask the type of hair you got, if it is stiff and cannot be easily style and flaunt as desire, defiantly it is not good for natural hair as it has greater propensity to make it worse than it is. Make the right choice, look good, and stay confident!

POWER OFF 24 HOURS IS DEGRADING

POWER OFF 24 HOURS IS DEGRADING
The electricity company of Ghana has declared their intention of switching to a new 24 hours load shedding timetable if the current energy rating power does not get better.

It has therefore been indicated that the new 24 hours timetable will provide subscribers with a day and night power off and followed by a day and night power on. This development is as a result of shortage of energy generating power rating between 550 and 600 megawatts. (Declared by Mr. William Boateng PRO, ECG)

But it must be stress that the situation is one of a negative blast that a country like Ghana must resort to factoring the current economic crises. Apparently productivity would be much affected if this move is adapted. workers that rely on the electrical energy and probably cannot afford a plant would have to halt working in such instances. The worse of the condition is that, the new timetable does not presume any time bound to have the light go off or on to help workers engage work in the appropriate hours.

In such a case, revenue would be reduce by a certain percentage since zero work would be achieved by entrepreneurs in the affected areas. The current economic states of the country must not give chances that call for worse situations.

Therefore the ECG, the government coupled with the Ministry of Energy, Gridco and all other private institutions under the energy sector pooling resources together must find a profound solution to ensure a redraw in this venture. I will therefore applaud the government for cutting a sod of a 1000 megawatts estuary project in Ada in the Greater Accra Region.

STATE THE RIGHT GDP GCB

Ghana commercial bank should have known that IMF is above the trick game picked-up with them as it states out 56% as the country’s current GDP. The International Monetary Fund is an international bank set to provide financial aid to countries that face economic hardship eventually causing its currency to deflate. Such institution with no doubt keeps the economic status of countries in the right order to help them stand on good grounds going about their duties.
Therefore Ghana Commercial bank filing incorrect economic values to them goes beyond the act of professionalism; a blotch on their records depicting how dishonest and insecure their services could be. Also the government agreeing to present wrongly the country’s economic status internationally is another issues to talk about.
The IMF who keeps with time Ghana’s GDP states 71% as the current; intend to run till 2015 and 56% of the country’s GDP as at 2009 while the Ghana Commercial bank presented 56% as the current GDP.  It must be admit that Ghana’s economic status still remains poor as inflation for the month of September records 16.5% to 15.9% in the month of August. (Government statistician, Philomena Nyarko reports)
The present economic hardship facing individuals in the country cannot be overemphasized as the various economic indicators continue to rise a percentage increase or more to the previous. Therefore it will be in the right step for Bank of Ghana to project the right economic stands of the country to IMF and Ghanaian's.

Kente-The African heritage

Kente cloth has its origin with the Ashanti kingdom in Ghana and many other African countries. It is an Ashanti royal and sacred cloth worn only in times of extreme importance and was the cloth of kings. Over time the use of kente has become more widespread. However its importance has remained and it is still held in high esteem by the Akans. Kente cloth is a type of silk and cotton fabric made of interwoven cloth strips. It comes from the word kenten which means basket.

                                          THE WARP THREAD SET OUT

The Ashanti  refer to it as “nwentoma” meaning woven cloth. Kente cloth is predominantly made by the Ashanti people. Bonwire, Adanwomase, Wonoo in the Kwabre areas of Ashanti region are known as kente weavers. Also the Akans run amongst the Brong Ahafo and the Fantes . Kente is also produced by the Akan group in Ivory Coast such as the Baoule and Ayi. Today apart from the kings who used to regale their entire body with kente, it is also worn by many other groups who have been influence by the Akans. The icons of the African heritage around the world, the Ashanti kente is identified by its dazzling, multicoloured bright patterns, and geometric shapes and blog designs.

THE WEAVER IN THE LOOM CREATING THE KENTE

Though the colors of kente cloth is mostly chosen by beautification purposes, it is important to note that  the colors also has meanings pertaining to humanity.

Therefore the meaning of kente colors  runs as follows:
White - purification
Gold - royal/wealth
Blue-peacefulness
Green-vegetation
Red-spiritual mood
Black-maturity
Pink-female essence of life.
Purple-feminine aspect of life.
Silver-serenity
Yellow-preciousness
Grey-healing/cleansing
Maroon-the color of mother earth.
SIGNIFICANCE
In a cultural context  Kente is a visual representation of history, philosophy, ethics, oral literature, religious belief, social values and political thought.
The authentic forms of the cloth are still associated with prestige, royalty and cultural significance.
